My daughter brought home a ten page study guide for biology. Once she finished it, we printed another, gave it to her, and asked her to do it without looking at her notes. She screamed.
Right now, she's doing it, and I just heard her mutter What IS that one subdivision I can't remember!!!!
Ah. I think we did good.

She's done. Several times, she had to stop and think. She didn't get them all, but she did get most. This is goodness.

Share the work and share the fun.
My friend is a single mother. Her idea of fun is not her daughter's idea of fun. This leads to conflict.
One never outgrows colour guard. But there are times when drill is boring. My best work is done when I know the job so well that it is stultifyingly boring. But that allows me to worry about the details.
I think (theoretical) that they ought to involve the kids in the more intellectual parts of what they do -- the planning of the routine. They don't. Kids get bored
This exact concept is also true for big and some not-so-big companies.
