Persistant optimists say that you can make a good day. Personally, I think that you just get to a point where you're willing to accept less. Sometimes, much less.
I don't know if you can MAKE a day great, but I think all days are balanced with equal amounts of challenge and support. You just have to have your eyes open for BOTH.

Yup. I know that there are days that turn out better than you can reasonably expect. I think I had one when I was eight or so.
