I look at a fair number of sites via an RSS reader. Feed Demon's the one I use, but there are dozens of others, some of them free. I like the idea of being able to run down the list of things, category by category. I've got about seven major categories -- AI/Robotics, Business, Commentary, etc -- but by far the biggest one is the Food/Baking one. There's likely, oh, forty sites in there. I don't spend a lot of time going through them, but when I'm in the mood to cook something (more likely, to bake something), I'll occasionally slide through the list, stopping every so often to read a recipe and figure if I'm up to it. I was doing that this evening -- my wife and daughter are out to a color guard event, and, gee what a surprise, there's nothing on the tube. I want to make something unusual (though not too wildly unusual). I've got the ingredients for tiramisu (picked up some marscapone this afternoon), so maybe that, but maybe something else. I recalled seeing a recipe at one site called Cafe Fernando for something called a Buche de Noel, which is what I'd call a Christmas log. Hmm, wonder.... So I looked through the entries for that site, and just before I got to the one I wanted, I noticed one for a drink called Boza. Fernando had this to say:
But here is another feast that is associated with winter in İstanbul. This magical winter drink is called Boza, and it makes your boobs grow BIGGER naturally. Not kidding!
Talk about comments you don't normally expect to find in a food blog.... By the way, check the pictures on this page from the same blog. When I think of a holiday party, this is the kind of thing I want to do. Never DO do, but want to, yes....
