This is an archival interview with the PM of Canada when a couple of diplomats were kidnapped, and another was killed by their kidnappers. He declared martial law, and a lot of people didn't like to see troops on the street.
This is real by the way, VERY very real. Oh, and that PM was head of (get this!) the Liberal party. You see how things are turned around up here?
There were times during the Bush administration when I thought martial law was a real possibility. Of course, with Obama in office, it's the tea party that thinks that now.
