Copper

Saw a BBC show called Copper last night, about a policeman in 19th century New York.  It's dark, but not all all bad.

For some reason I am becoming addicted to British television. I think it is because their elderly are not all jokes in the story line as American drama does.

Agreed. Of course, whenever I think "British is Better", I remember Benny Hill. Actually, that argument works both ways....

I got hooked on that Copper from the get-go - it's well written, acted and produced. Tom Fontana & Barry Levinson can manage such things!

And it's totally different to what "Law & Order, 19th Century Style" would be. Which is, I think, how anyone but the BBC or HBO (they'd do more blood & guts) would do.

If it was a US show, the little girl would be cuter, and she'd become an ex-officio assistant to Corcoran. As it is, he's just a bit more honest than I believe - which doesn't mean I don't like it.
