Is it possible that scattered demonstrations along the order of Occupy Wall Street will push recalcitrant, for which read, mostly-Republican, politicians to take action against corporate greed?
Maybe. If OWT ends up being a political player that can affect whether they get reelected.
....and I kind of like the sound of that.

The fact that this has gone global is far more meaningful than anything else. Is this the first wave of the fight for resources as our population continues to grow beyond the support this planet can provide?
I think that there are those who would like that to occur, and it's a worthwhile desire, but I doubt it will happen -- if for no other reason that that the haves, ie, us, strongly dislike anything that suggests a reduction in living standards.
