Balancing Act
I always get a slight frisson of pleasure when my checking account balances -- and even more when it doesn't, and I figure out why. I really don't understand people who say oh, I'll just round up. Round Up is for weeds, not check registers.

I never balance mine. Think of the monthly thrill I'm missing out on. On the other hand, I always enjoy doing my taxes.
God help me, I still remember what my accounting instructor told us about what to suspect if two columns are out of balance by a symmetrical number.
