Computerization
Oh, goody. The library has switched to a completely new computer system. Among other things, it asterisks-out when you type in the 14 digit library card number. Good luck with typos. And, oh yeah, unlike the old one, it doesn't save it.
As somebody who works at a public library, I am sad to observe that most changes, particularly changes when it comes to technology "upgrades," make the experience less user-friendly for our patrons. (And for us.)

I supported this kind of change for years. I never saw one that left the users crying Hosannah! At best, it was relatively obvious. Relatively.
