In The Garden

I spent some time in the front landscaped area this morning, clearing a patch where the poppies were overtaking the territory. Along the way, I took a couple of photographs.

Oooh purty!
The larger version of the images have great detail. Now to drive around and look for a house with poppies in the front ; P

Head towards the farm, turn left into the cul-de-sac. No prob.

Yeah, I discovered two things about my camera -- first, that the delay about which I was complaining, from when a photo was taken to when you could take the next, was user-settable (gasp!). I immediately dialed it down from twenty seconds to two. Hey presto! And second, the size of the picture (which was set at the smallest) is independently selectable from the grain (sic) of the image. Makes no sense to me. But I bumped both up about halfway to max, and -- good GOD thats a big image!

Oh, they're pretty, Bill! I love that color! So bright and hot summery looking.

I wish I could say that I picked the colors, but it was almost entirely my wife and the landscaper. The orange poppies are only good for about ten days; the others will last a couple of months. There are some green areas now that will bloom just around when the others start to die, so the area's good for pretty much all of the summer, which is nice.

Still an awfully lot of weeds, though.

Yay pictures! I enjoyed the color also, especially the contrast with the blue. I liked the focus on the poppy seed pod but wished to see a little more focus in the front or cropped in more. I liked the picture with the log too, it very well could be in a magazine.

...and that's it for my lowly opinion, good see you playin with the camera.

I want you to know, S, that YOU are the reason I took the pictures.I felt badly about the cardinal photographs (didn't help that I haven't seen but one, since, and that one, about a half block away). So when I went out, I thought 'I'm gonna do some photo-graphy stuff.' Or words to that effect.

I would love to see some photos from around your town, places of interest near you also.
I am so proud, I got you out about with a camera, Yay me.

Now, if we can keep it happening, because demanding audiences want more. lol.
